Filizadeh Siamak

Born in 1970 in Tehran, Siamak Filizadeh initiated his artistic studies in Graphic Design at the Tehran Azad University, completing his BA in 1995. 

Upon graduation Filizadeh started his career as graphic designer, working in different fields within design, advertising, branding, and visual arts. He has worked as art director and graphic designer for a number of large institutions and international festivals and received numerous poster and book design prizes. After his successful exhibition of 2008, Rostam II – The Return, he pivoted away from graphic design and concentrated exclusively on his visual artistic practice. 

As a consequence, he has achieved global recognition through participating in a number of solo and group exhibitions worldwide at institutions as diverse as the Chelsea Museum of Art in New York, USA, Aga Khan Museum in Toronto, Canada, and the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland, amongst others. 

Filizadeh’s works have also been acquired by a number of important public and private collections. In terms of the former, both the Metropolitan Museum of Art (in New York City) and Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA in Los Angeles) have collectively purchased 37 works by the artist for their permanent collections.
