Kasatkina Nadejda

Born in Petrozavodsk, Nadezhda Kasatkina currently lives and works in St. Petersburg. In 1978, she graduated from the Boris Ioganson Art School under the auspices of the Academy of Arts of the USSR, and in 1984, from the Repin Institute for Painting, Sculpture and Architecture.

In 1991, Nadezhda joined the Artists’ Union of Russia. Between 2008 and 2010, she was working in Paris at the invitation of Cité Internationale des Arts.

Over the years, Nadezhda Kasatkina’s art has been praised by art critics and painting connoisseurs alike. In his review of the 1st Elaginoostrovsky Art Auction, art historian Yury Novikov wrote: ‘The exhibits on show prove that our Northern artists can paint just as brightly and vividly as Nadezhda Kasatkina does in her highly ornamental canvases.’ The artist’s motto is ‘To achieve ultimate expression of each image and symbol.’

The artist’s works are in private collections in Russia, Ukraine, Finland, France, Canada, UK, US, and Poland.

Member of the Polyrealism – 21st Century Creative Association.

Resident of Cité Internationale des Arts (Paris, France).

Honorary Member of the Friends of the Russian Museum International Society.

Winner of the Russian stage of the Portrait NOW! International Portrait Competition. Brewer J. C. Jacobsen’s Award for The Star-Child painting.

 

More than 17 solo shows and over 150 group exhibitions in Russia and abroad (US, China, UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, Finland).

Artworks featured in 10 international contemporary painting auctions (Russia, US), five biennials (Russia, China) and international art fairs (China, France).

In 2009, Nadezhda Kasatkina’s name was added to the book of prominent residents of the town of Pushkin.
