Golybev Vasiliy

Born in Leningrad in 1964.

From 1987 to 1999 – a member of The Mitki art group.

Since 1987 has been taking part in exhibitions.

Since 1994 – a member of the Union of Artists of Russia.

Engaged in painting and graphic art. A writer and a book illustrator. Has illustrated more than twenty books for "Amphora", "Syntaxis", "Krasny Matros", "Mitkilibris", and "Prisma–15" publishing houses. Author of "Fairytales" published in "The best of The Mitki"; a novel "Forehead", included in the compilation "New Petersburg tales"; such books as "Overture for heroism", "Grompopyka", "Club of shy anti–Semites", and "Netka Tserebrofagii" published between 1990 and 2000.

In 2012, RTG TV has done a documentary film about the artist.

Vasily Golubev lives and works in St. Petersburg.

 

Education

In 1983 – graduated from B. Johanson art school.
In 1983 – entered the Mukhina Leningrad Academy of Art and Industry, which he left in 1987.
