Karasik Mikhail

Michael Karasik is a Russian painter and writer.

He graduated from art-graphic faculty of Leningrad State Pedagogical Institute named after Herzen. Member of the Union of Artists of Russia.

Karasik is the initiator, ideologist, and popularizer of the genre "artist’s book" in Russia. He publishes books and catalogs on "artist’s book" and the Russian avant-garde culture of the early twentieth century, organizes numerous exhibitions, writes articles on "artist's book" and contemporary art. Mikhail is the author of more than 80 "artist’s books" — he created his first book in the late 1980s. He works with the technique of lithography.
