Anfalova Nadezhda

Nadezhda Anfalova is an active and versatile artist, working not only in different techniques and forms of art, but also in different systems of artistic thinking. Academic education helped her gain professional craft skills, knowledge of printmaking techniques, which she uses when does her graphic works. She is a regular participant of a number of graphic biennials and triennials.

Anfalova is also engaged in painting. Staying a figurative artist, she is usually abstracted from excessive specificity and detail. Urban landscape is one of her major genres. Using well-known postcard views of the city as a basis, Nadezhda brings in her individual decorativity.

Anfalova shows noticeable activity in the field of Contemporary Art. Her installation "In the garden area" was nominated for the Kandinsky Prize in 2008. Anfalova is a participant of the Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art.

She is an author of more than 35 solo exhibitions and over 200 group projects around the world.

Education

  • 1991-1994 – St. Petersburg Art Lyceum named after B.V.Ioganson.
  • 1995-2001 – Academy of Arts (Graphic Department of the St. Petersburg State Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after Ilya Repin, book design workshop of Professor A.A.Pahomova), graduated with distinction.

 

Nadezhda Anfalova is a member of the Union of Artists of Russia, the Creative Union of Artists (IFA UNESCO), Watercolour Society of St. Petersburg.
