Bazanova Anastasia

Anastasia Bazanova was born to a family of artists in the old Russian city of Kaluga in 1978.

The artist discovered she wanted to be an artist when she was a child after attending a local art school under her parents' requests. Bazanova then went on to Petersburg to study in the middle art school at the Academy of Arts. Upon finishing at the school, Bazanova enrolled in the department of graphics at the Academy and was taught in Professor Pakhomov’s workshop for book graphics.

Bazanova started to practice painting when her studies were completed.

She enjoys painting nude figures and landscapes. The way in which Bazanova treats colour and drawing reveals her academic education.
The world as presented in Bazanova’s artwork is perfect and ideal. This is the world of silence and peace, a place where a warm ray of sun lights up a beautiful girl or landscape. Bazanova’s models are flawless. Her nudes are reminiscent of coloured Greek statues.

Bazanova confesses that she needs much time to accomplish a painting. She often returns to her paintings and makes changes, thus striving for absolute harmony and perfection.
